A document tracking service hosts your PDF as a shareable link and records every view event — who opened it, which pages they read, and how long they spent on each page. Unlike email tracking pixels, document tracking works per page and across every recipient, even if the link is forwarded.
How does FlipLink know who opened my document?+
Without Lead Capture, FlipLink records anonymous views with IP-derived location, device, and referrer. With Lead Capture turned on, recipients enter their email before reading — every view is then tied to a known identity.
Does FlipLink work with PDFs I already have?+

Is document tracking legal under GDPR?+
Document tracking is lawful when the recipient is informed and the data is processed under a lawful basis — typically legitimate interest for B2B sales contexts, or consent via Lead Capture. FlipLink stores no special-category data and supports data deletion on request.
Can the recipient see they're being tracked?+
Tracking is silent by default. If you enable Lead Capture, the recipient is shown an email gate — they know they're identifying themselves. Anonymous tracking shows no notice. You can disable tracking per document if needed.
