How to Embed a Folder Gallery of Flipbooks on Your Website
Turn a folder of FlipLink publications into a searchable, paginated image gallery embedded on any website. Visitors click a cover to open the flipbook in a lightbox.
Why Embed a Folder Gallery?
Embedding a single flipbook on a page works great when you have one publication to share. But what if you have a catalog library, a resource center, a collection of training manuals, or dozens of product brochures? Linking to each one individually is tedious for you and frustrating for visitors.
FlipLink's Folder Embed Gallery solves this by letting you embed an entire folder of publications as a single, browsable image gallery. Visitors see a grid of cover-image thumbnails, click any one, and the flipbook opens right there in a lightbox popup — no page navigation, no new tabs, no friction.
Think of it as a digital library shelf you can drop onto any web page.
What You Can Configure
The Folder Gallery embed gives you full control over how the gallery appears on your site:
Layout Options
- PDFs per row — Choose how many publication thumbnails appear in each row (e.g., 3, 4, or 5 across)
- PDFs per page — Set how many publications load before pagination kicks in (e.g., 12, 24, or more)
- Space between PDFs — Control the gap between thumbnails in pixels (e.g., 10px for tight grids, 30px for spacious layouts)
Browsing and Search
- Search bar — Toggle a search bar that lets visitors filter publications by title in real time. Essential when your folder holds dozens of items
- Display order — Sort publications by newest first, oldest first, or alphabetical
- Pagination position — Place the page navigation at the center, left, or right of the gallery
Automatic Cover Images
You do not need to upload separate thumbnails. FlipLink automatically pulls the cover image from each publication in the folder. When a visitor clicks any cover, the full flipbook opens in an inline lightbox popup.
How to Set It Up
Setting up a Folder Gallery embed takes just a few steps:
Step 1: Create a Folder
Go to your FlipLink dashboard and create a new folder. Give it a descriptive name — this becomes the gallery title by default. Move or assign the publications you want in the gallery to this folder.
Step 2: Open the Embed Dialog
Select the folder and click the Embed button. You'll see a configuration panel where you can set the title, layout options, search bar, display order, spacing, and pagination.
Step 3: Copy the Embed Code
FlipLink generates a two-part embed code:
- Head scripts — A small set of JavaScript files to paste in your website's
<head>section - Gallery container — A single
<div>element to place wherever you want the gallery to appear on the page
Paste both snippets into your website's HTML. The gallery renders automatically.
Step 4: Customize and Preview
Adjust the configuration options in the embed dialog and preview the result. Once you're happy with the layout, copy the final code and publish.
Use Cases for Folder Gallery Embeds
The Folder Gallery is especially powerful for:
- Product catalogs — Embed your entire product line on a single page. Customers browse covers and open whichever catalog interests them
- Resource libraries — Training manuals, policy documents, onboarding guides — all in one searchable gallery
- Client portals — Agencies can embed a folder per client, giving each client a branded gallery of their publications
- Education — Course materials, syllabi, and reading lists organized into a single embeddable gallery that students can search by title
- Real estate — Property brochures displayed as a browsable grid. Buyers click to flip through any listing
- Restaurant chains — Multiple location menus in one gallery, searchable by branch name

Tips for a Great Gallery Experience
- Keep folder names descriptive — The folder name becomes the default gallery title visitors see
- Use clear cover pages — Since FlipLink auto-pulls cover images, make sure the first page of each PDF has a strong visual that identifies the content
- Enable the search bar for folders with more than a dozen publications — visitors will thank you
- Match PDFs per row to your site layout — 3 per row works well in narrow content columns, 4–5 for full-width sections
- Set a reasonable PDFs per page — 12–24 is a good range. Too many thumbnails on one page can slow initial load
Updating the Gallery
One of the best parts of the Folder Gallery: it stays in sync with your folder. Add a new publication to the folder, and it appears in the gallery automatically. Remove one, and it disappears. No need to touch the embed code on your website.
This makes the Folder Gallery ideal for content that changes frequently — monthly newsletters, rotating product lines, or growing resource libraries.

If you're managing more than a handful of publications, the Folder Gallery embed can replace dozens of individual embeds with a single, searchable, paginated gallery.
